Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) has been used for centuries by Indigenous communities in South America in traditional healing, purification, and spiritual ceremonies. Its naturally sweet, woodsy aroma carries hints of pine and mint and has long been associated with cleansing spaces and creating a sense of warmth, clarity, and renewal.

Unlike rituals focused only on letting go, Palo Santo is traditionally believed to help clear what no longer serves while welcoming positive energy in. We love that duality at Moonbow: release something heavy, make a little room for something good.

Create Your Ritual

Light the end of the Palo Santo until a small flame catches, then gently blow it out and allow the ember to smolder. Place it in a fire-safe ceramic bowl or shell, or carefully move the smoke through your space while considering what you’re ready to release and what you’d like to invite in.
